Reseña

How Do You Say…? Teacher Training. Fifth Grade is a text that aims to help teachers in the acquisition of English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching skills. It is a theoretical guide with support materials that will help the English educator navigate the topics developed in the How Do You Say…? series, which they will teach in their classes.

The work is divided into three sections. The first one is an introduction to ESL, classroom
management, and the structure of the books that make up the series. The second section tells us why and how to teach each language and communication skill developed throughout the school year, such as Use of English, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, as well as Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), and Socioemotional Learning (SEL); including general examples from the units of the book for each skill.

The final section explains the main grammar elements of each unit with definitions, examples, and exercises for the teacher, as well as the meaning and phonetic transcription of all the vocabulary words. As a learning support, this section also includes its own audio tracks to listen to how to improve the pronunciation of the words.

This theory and practice training for teachers will help them, along with constant practice,
to improve and enhance their knowledge of the English language to enrich and strengthen their teaching practice.
