How do you say ...? Student's workbook. Fifth grade
The How Do You Say…? series is created for Mexican primary school students learning English as a second language (ESL). The books contain a wide variety of explanations, exercises, games, science and art projects, as well as stories created for their socioemotional development.
The series follows the Cambridge content levels of Starters (1st and 2nd), Movers (3rd and 4th), and Flyers (5th and 6th). By taking three to five weekly hours of class, at the end of the program, students will master the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference
for Languages (CEFR).
Each book is organized into ten thematic units that include grammar rules and specific vocabulary, which make the development of receptive (Reading, Listening) and productive (Writing, Speaking) skills possible. We will also work on developing the pronunciation of the 44 sounds of English.
The CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) section is intended as an approach to topics from different disciplines such as science, art, history, among others, so that students can enhance their communicative skills and indirectly increase their vocabulary.
On the other hand, the SEL (Socioemotional Learning) section invites students to reflect on topics such as family, friends, the environment, and to express their experiences and emotions with their class.
The books contain self-assessment sections at the end of each unit, and a review after each theme, so the teacher can assess their students’ progress every trimester.
