Reseña

The Womb Space is a piece by the Colombian artist Delcy Morelos that connects land, ritual, memory and the feminine through three local landmarks in the ancient landscape configured by the Xitle volcano, the Cuicuilco pyramid and the Sculptural Space in southern Mexico City. Morelos understands the earth as a feminine divinity that is responsible for the cycles of life and death and instills us with an awareness that exploitation and contemporary territorial struggles produce a disconnect with the web of life that supports our existence on this planet. In this piece, Morelos invites us to inhabit a ritual space in which the earth introduces itself to us and we introduce ourselves to the earth.
