Digna Carpio: A Woman Who Never Gave Up is an autobiographical and testimonial work that tells the life story of Digna Carpio, from her childhood and youth in Ecuador to her migration to the United States and the personal, family, and social experiences that shaped her adult life.

The book recounts her marriage, her experience as a mother, and, in particular, the birth and upbringing of her sextuplets, an event that brought public attention to her family and led to news reports, interviews, and a television program about their daily lives. From that point forward, the narrative also explores the struggles that remained hidden behind that public image: marital and family conflicts, infidelity, separation, legal proceedings, the temporary loss of daily contact with and custody of her children, as well as her subsequent fight to regain custody and rebuild her life.

The book also addresses defining events such as the serious health problems faced by one of her sons, who lost most of his vision as a result of a medical condition that required surgical intervention, along with the financial, professional, and emotional challenges Digna faced in the years that followed.

Told from the protagonist’s personal perspective, the book traces a journey through motherhood, adversity, faith, learning, and personal reconstruction. Rather than focusing exclusively on the hardships she endured, the narrative reveals Digna’s transformation through those experiences and her pursuit of a more conscious and peaceful life, while maintaining her relationship with her children and the rebuilding of her own path as central themes.
