Preface:
Como cada tramo de esta obra, este cuarto volumen no sustituye la
experiencia viva del texto bíblico; solo orienta al lector hacia una lectura
ordenada y edificante. Abril acompaña la conquista y el asentamiento
de Israel en la tierra prometida, junto con dos historias muy personales
de fidelidad en medio de la adversidad.
El mes continúa el libro de Josué —la repartición de la herencia entre
las tribus y el memorable llamado a «escoged hoy a quién habréis de
servir»— y recorre el turbulento ciclo de Jueces, donde Israel se aleja
de Dios, es oprimido, clama y es librado una y otra vez por hombres y
mujeres imperfectos a quienes Dios, aun así, elige usar. En medio de
ese ciclo se sitúa el libro de Rut, una historia íntima de lealtad,
redención y un amor que nunca falla.
Abril cierra con el inicio de 1 Samuel: el nacimiento de Samuel en
respuesta a la oración de Ana, y la transición de Israel hacia la
monarquía. En el Nuevo Testamento, este volumen cierra la carta a los
Romanos y recorre íntegra la Primera Carta a los Corintios —con su
llamado a la unidad, el uso correcto de los dones espirituales, el himno
al amor y la certeza de la resurrección—, junto con los primeros
capítulos de la Segunda Carta a los Corintios, donde Pablo habla del
consuelo de Dios en medio del sufrimiento.
Así como Israel repitió el ciclo de olvido y restauración, y así como Rut
encontró redención en medio de la pérdida, Abril invita al lector a
reconocer sus propios ciclos de alejamiento, y a descubrir que la
lealtad silenciosa y la fidelidad cotidiana —como la de Rut— muchas
veces preparan el terreno para la obra mayor que Dios tiene preparada
Reading the Bible is not merely a personal act of faith, but also an act of integral formation that touches the lives of individuals, families, and entire societies. The history of humanity demonstrates that wherever the Word of God has been known, understood, and lived, values, justice, and hope have been strengthened. Yet it is also true that the complexity of its 66 books and more than a thousand chapters can prove challenging for many, who end up losing sight of the coherence and central message of the Scriptures.
For this reason, this work was born with a clear intention: to help people understand the Bible in an orderly, profound, and accessible way. The effort of analysis and synthesis carried out here has sought to extract the heart of each book and chapter, so that the reader may find a clear map amidst the vastness of biblical revelation. Each day, following this plan through 365 journeys, what is offered is not merely a reading guide, but also an interpretive key that facilitates understanding and opens the path to personal, family, and community edification.
As a scholar would note of a historical process, the Bible is presented here not as isolated fragments, but as a coherent narrative that gives meaning to human existence. That structured and pedagogical vision is what this work offers: a guide that by no means replaces the living experience of the text, but simply orients readers toward an orderly and edifying reading.
It has been a true honor for me to write this work. My wish is that this effort become a tool of edification: that it transform hearts, strengthen families, and renew entire societies, because where the Word dwells, life flourishes.
