Let's Talk mastering English 4
The General Baccalaureate is based on constructivism, humanism, connectivism, and cognitivism. It is based on the student-centered teaching-learning process under a face-to-face model with components of distance education, which is characterized by being hybrid and flexible. It forms citizens with knowledge, skills, and attitudes, conscious, critical, capable of linking responsibly with social, environmental, economic, and political problems, participants in the practice of solidarity and sisterhood; with capacities for the application of scientific and technological knowledge, to influence the solution of local, national, and global problems with responsibility and social linkage.
To understand the development of the General Baccalaureate of the University of Guadalajara, exposed in its curriculum, it is necessary to address the profile expected of the student, as well as to identify the characteristics that make it an education that exceeds the national perspectives desired for the graduate of the upper secondary level.
The English Level 4 subject introduces each student to the elements and information necessary to express aspects related to themselves, their environment, and the people around them in a foreign language. To this end, each student develops the four basic skills: writing, speaking, reading, and listening.
At an A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which is the expected level at the end of the sixth semester of baccalaureate, each student will acquire the ability to carry out simple and common tasks. You will also be able to describe aspects of your past and environment in simple terms. In addition, you will be able to participate in conversations that involve direct and simple exchanges of information. The subject is divided into four learning modules, in which the communicative functions, grammar, and vocabulary essential for each student to communicate effectively and improve their competence in the language are developed. The English Level 4 subject contributes significantly to the features of the graduation profile by developing the ability of each student to express themselves orally and in writing in a foreign language using various media. This promotes a respectful and tolerant approach to people from different social, cultural, and work backgrounds. In addition, it fosters in each student the will to communicate in a disciplined and honest way in another language, which gives them access to ideologies, customs, traditions, and cultures different from their own, allowing them to know, understand, and respect cultural diversity.
