Published for the first time in 1910. This story about the opera in Paris involves a strange phantom who terrifies the theater and communicates with letters, which assume that death will happen if the production does not do what he desires. One night, singer Christine Daaé makes him appear with her voice and he offers musical gifts in exchange for spending time with her. Although the wishes of the phantom and his secrets would be behind horrifying torments that make the entire theater find a bridge between the spirits and music.
