This publication may be seen as an attempt to demonstrate that the roots of housing lie in a much larger tradition of modernism while remaining a constant challenge both for the profession and for society. The idea of addressing the issue through case studies makes it a valuable tool for all those who design social housing, while also making it accessible to wider society, who without question should both aspire to and demand the resulting quality.
